Mindfulness: The practice of Embodied Awareness
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to our immediate embodied experience, in order to learn about, explore and understand ourselves better.
When we notice what we are thinking and feeling in the moment it is happening, we can grow our capacity to respond to life more appropriately and skillfully.
How can Mindfulness benefit you?
Studies suggest that practicing mindfulness can:
- increase feelings of happiness
- alleviate anxiety and depression
- aid stress management
- improving our ability to concentrate, sleep and make decisions, as well as the quality of our relationships.
Wellness & Mindfulness 4 week course at Goldendoor Studio
Learn how to cultivate self awareness, emotional intelligence and a greater sense of ease and well-being on this fun and engaging 4 week course.
Each week we will practice different mindfulness meditations and other techniques from Yoga, Yoga Nidra (the yoga of sleep) and Qi Gong including advice on practical ways to integrate these into daily activities at work, home and in relationships.

* Managing stress and learning how to shift from reaction to response.
* Recognizing and letting go of unhelpful habitual thoughts and mind states.
* The SleepWell yoga sequence and breathing techniques to aid relaxation
* iRest Yoga Nidra guided relaxation every week

On-Site Mindfulness Taster Sessions at Work
Is your workplace a stressful environment where people are always tired, eat at their desks and work long hours due to tight deadlines?
Mindfulness offers techniques that can help to keep stress at bay, increasing overall productivity and encouraging more restful sleep.
These short, fun, experiential taster sessions will introduce some simple techniques for practicing mindfulness at work. We will explore why we need to cultivate our awareness and how we can most easily access the benefits during the working day, encouraging a greater sense of ease and well being. We will practice a variety of mindfulness meditations and practical ways to integrate mindfulness into daily activities.
There will be plenty of opportunity for discussion and feedback.
