Escape from the city for a long weekend in an oasis of peace and tranquility,  on a beautiful island said to be the sunniest place in the UK,   super accessible, just a short ferry ride from Portsmouth.

The Isle of Wight is a hidden gem. Beautiful sandy beaches, rugged cliffs, lush green fields and woodlands. A castle, a never-ending coastal path and fish and chips!

In Victorian times the Isle of Wight was home to many well-known characters including Alfred Lord Tennyson, Charles Dickens, Charles Darwin and Queen Victoria. Other famous faces who’ve graced the isle include Winston Churchill and Karl Marx.

Godshill Park Farm is situated in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in a hamlet on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Godshill, renowned for its pretty thatched cottages, 14th century church and tea gardens.

The Farmhouse, cottages and barn are nestled amidst a network of footpaths and bridleways which lead onto the Downs and coastal walks. A long driveway leads to the house from the road ensuring peace and tranquility and starry night skies.

What’s included?

  • 3 nights’ accommodation (single, double or twin occupancy)
  • Yoga and Meditation sessions twice a day: strengthening and stretching the body with Dynamic Flow Vinyasa Yoga; sinking into deep relaxation with Yin, Restorative and Yoga Nidra; and morning Meditation and breathing practices. All suitable for beginners as well as more experienced practitioners
  • Light breakfast
  • Delicious home-cooked brunch
  • Afternoon tea and snacks
  • Dinner Friday and Saturday.

What’s not included?

  • Travel and transfers to and from Godshill (see location and travel)
  • Dinner Sunday evening: we’re going out!

8am: Morning tea and light breakfast

9-11am: Gentle meditative start gradually building into a Vinyasa Flow practice

11.30am: Delicious home-cooked veggie brunch.

Personal time: Afternoons are free to relax, snooze, enjoy one of many walks,  visit historical sites, or head to the beach (lifts can be arranged). Everything is close.

5-6.30 pm: Gentle and Restorative yoga including breathing exercises (pranayama) and deep relaxation (yoga nidra)

7pm:  DINNER

 

This week includes plenty of time for practice and rest, with afternoons free to enjoy the sumptuous surroundings.

Light breakfast, delicious home-cooked veggie brunch plus dinner on two evenings, coffee, teas and refreshments are included in the price. . On Saturday night we will enjoy dinner at the local pub The Taverners, or you may choose to eat elsewhere.

GETTING THERE
Frequent Ferry Services across the Solent make traveling to the Isle of Wight  from mainland UK very easy:

Car Ferries

Portsmouth to Fishbourne approx 45mins via Wightlink Ferries
Southampton to East Cowes approx 60 mins via Red Funnel
Lymington to Yarmouth approx 40mins via Wightlink Ferries

Foot Passengers
If you’re coming from London you can buy a train/ferry/train ticket straight through from Waterloo to Shanklin. It’s super easy and seamless: Waterloo-Portsmouth-Ryde Pier-Shanklin
Aim to arrive in Shanklin by 15:00 and we’ll organise taxi pickups from there for the short trip to Godshill

Portsmouth to Ryde via FastCat Catamaran and takes 22 miniues Wightlink Ferries

Godshill Farm is approx 20-30minutes from the ports (Yarmouth is a bit further) and taxi pickups can be organised or you can use local transport services, check these out here

There is a direct train service from Ryde Pier to Shanklin (only 10 mins drive or 30 min cycle from Gosdshill) where you can catch a taxi or local bus..

The island offers miles of  stunning coastal path walks and is blessed with some  golden sandy beaches as well as other areas of Outstanding Natural Beautfy and historically interesting sites.

There is a bus service every 30 mins from Godshill to Ventor, a lovely seaside town with a beautiful bay, perfect for swimming and some nice cafes and shops. The bus takes 17 minutes.
